Job Duties:

Play a key role in the development of processes and equipment for production of biologically active microparticles. This individual will join an early-stage, multidisciplinary team of scientists and engineers and contribute to a variety of process development activities in a highly collaborative environment. Job duties will include the following:

•Apply engineering principles and problem-solving skills to plan and execute process development experiments with a focus on production and physicochemical characterization of biologically active microparticle formulations
•Evaluate and optimize the performance of commercially available and in-house technologies for particle generation, separation and drying to meet critical product quality attributes
•Develop and operate an end-to-end process for production of microparticle formulations by integrating the above technologies at the laboratory scale and pilot scale to satisfy material requirements for internal R&D and external collaborations
•Analyze process and product quality data using standard characterization techniques including scanning electron microscopy, gas chromatography, laser diffraction, UV-visible spectroscopy etc.
•Develop robust documentation sets, including standard operating procedures for equipment and processes, batch histories, and technical reports and presentations
•Provide training and oversight to junior scientists

Requirements:

Must have Ph.D. in Chemical, Biomedical, Materials, Pharmaceutical or a related engineering discipline; must have 1 year of research experience with instruments and techniques for crystallization, production of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), using various technologies to increase product quality, performing data analysis techniques, and using computer programming languages.
