Job Overview:
As a Remedial Education Instructor, you will be critical in providing high-quality instruction to individuals seeking remedial education in nursing documentation and jurisprudence/ethics. The courses offered are approved by the Texas Board of Nursing (BON). The primary responsibility is to guide participants in enhancing their understanding of nursing documentation, legal and ethical principles, and professional conduct. All instructors must meet specific qualifications outlined by the Texas BON to ensure the highest standards of education and professionalism.

Responsibilities:

Course Delivery:
Instruct and facilitate approved Nursing Documentation and Jurisprudence/Ethics courses according to Texas BON guidelines.
Utilize various teaching methods to engage participants, including lectures, case studies, discussions, and interactive activities.

Qualifications Compliance:
Course instructors must meet the requirements set by the Texas BON, including holding a current RN license, having a master's degree in nursing (or a relevant doctoral degree), demonstrating teaching abilities, and maintaining current knowledge of the subject matter.

Teaching Abilities:
Demonstrate effective teaching methodologies, incorporating adult learning principles to meet the diverse needs of participants.
Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages active participation and critical thinking.

Knowledge and Expertise:
Stay abreast of updates in nursing documentation, jurisprudence, and ethics.
Maintain clinical expertise and safety knowledge related to the subject matter being taught.

Experience Requirement:
Possess at least three years of recent professional nursing experience, demonstrating practical knowledge and skills in nursing practice.
Professional nursing experience should encompass various activities, assignments, or tasks that utilize nursing knowledge, judgment, and skills.

Professional Conduct:
Ensure compliance with ethical standards and professional conduct in the nursing field.
Instructors must not be the subject of a current eligibility or disciplinary order from a professional licensing board and/or disciplinary authority or have a history of more than one such order.

Record Keeping:
Maintain accurate records of course content, attendance, assessments, and participant progress.
Assist in generating reports to track the effectiveness of the remedial education courses.

Qualifications:
Registered Nurse (RN) with a current license or privilege to practice in the state of Texas.
Master's degree in nursing from an approved or accredited institution or a relevant doctoral degree.
Evidence of teaching abilities and a commitment to maintaining current knowledge and clinical expertise.
Minimum of three years of recent professional nursing experience.
No current eligibility or disciplinary order from a professional licensing board and/or disciplinary authority, and no history of more than one such order.
