Duties:
Apply engineering knowledge in the poultry industry to contribute to establishing, measuring, and improving the processes in the different business areas; Apply statistical knowledge measuring and analyzing data to create and update Statistical Process Control to close gaps; Regularly visit Pilgrims plants and live locations across the United States, working with plant teams to prepare, train, and conduct process improvement initiatives utilizing lean and continuous improvement tools as part of the Pilgrims Management Method; Develop and manage process improvements for achieving measurable efficiency, cost reduction, or performance improvement gains; Serve as primary contact for Fresh Food Service and Big Birds business unit to facilitate continuous improvement initiatives and to develop and support plant COEs; Responsible for developing and improving material, auditing plant locations, and other support as necessary across all business units; Co-own the Management Pillar implementation by teaching all its tools, training personnel, serving as support, and continuously improving the material to support company priorities; Lead 2 annual meetings with the COEs of each plant by planning the agenda, developing the content to be presented and communicated, and facilitating the meetings in conjunction with the other members of the Operational Excellence management team; Act on an ad-hoc basis to be part of any other project or initiative as part of the Pilgrims Management Method.
75% (domestic) travel is required
3 months of experience as an Industrial Engineer, Production Supervisor, Trainee, or related. Experience must include: The application of statistics and use of advanced software to analyze data; Use of modeling software to develop projects that create new parts or equipment and map the most efficient layout of the area; Application of root cause analysis methodology to prevent and resolve problems.
Bachelors degree (or foreign equivalent) in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related Engineering field.
