Primary Function: Make any type of core, mold or mold sections and other floor molds of ordinary configuration in flasks

Tools and Equipment: Electrically operated Muller and sand system, conveyers, shovels, hand trucks, hoists, chains, cables, ladders, hammer, crowbars, blocks, wheelbarrow, radio and pendent controlled cranes, centering bar, hand tools such as pneumatic and hand rammers, shovel, hammer trowel, spoon brush, rule, gauges, templates, wedges, spacers, electric drill, clamps, chiller rings, hand saw, set-up cars, sketches, impact wrench, spray wand, pneumatic grinder, chipping hammer, electric screwdriver, wooden lagging, magnet, etc.

Material: Facing and back-up sand, gate tile, rods gaggers, nails, air set sand insulating materials vent ropes, ceramic coatings. Cc

Working Procedures:
Receives instructions from supervision regarding work assignments.
Obtains patterns, select flask and/or core making equipment and tools, plans molding and/or core making procedure in accordance with accepted foundry practices.
Operates radio-controlled crane to handle positions and align equipment and material.
Makes any size mold or core by packing or ramming sand.
Applies release coating to core box set-up as required.
Operates controls of CE Cast Mixer.
Stop and start machine to place gates, risers, gaggers, loose pieces, etc., as required.
Strikes off top of box, inverts box on plate and draws box and/or loose pieces, finishes and coats core.
Places cores in and removes from drying oven.
Beds in loose pieces on cylinders, rams etc.
Draws patterns, repairs damaged parts of mold by hand finishing.
Uses clamps and wedges to join sections, smooths all surfaces and applies required coatings.
Makes final check to determine that molds or cores are properly finished and complete.
Loads and unloads CC molds onto sandblasting machine; cleans and prep molds as required. Notifies supervision of questionable cases.
Keeps immediate work area clean and orderly.
