Position:- Junior Oracle & DB2 DBA Location :- Plano, TX (3 Days Onsite)Database AdministratorDatabase Administrator with Oracle Database Knowledge is a senior-level position responsible for the design, implementation, and management of DB2 and Oracle databases. This role involves overseeing the database infrastructure, ensuring high availability, performance, and security. The Level 3 DBA provides technical expertise, leads database projects, and collaborates with other IT teams to deliver robust and scalable database services.Key Responsibilities:Oracle & DB2 Database Management: Plan, install, configure, and upgrade Oracle Server instances and databasesmiddot; Monitor database performance, resource usage, and implement optimizations for better efficiency.Oracle Database Management: Possess in-depth knowledge of Oracle database architecture, installation, and administrationmiddot; Manage Oracle databases, including installation, configuration, and performance tuning.Database High Availability and Disaster Recovery: Implement and support database high availability solutions, Oracle Data Guard, or similar technologiesmiddot; Develop and test disaster recovery strategies to ensure data availability and business continuity.Database Security: Enforce security measures, access controls, and encryption to protect sensitive datamiddot; Perform periodic security audits and vulnerability assessments.Database Performance Tuning: Identify and resolve complex performance bottlenecks, slow queries, and resource contention issues and Oracle databasesmiddot; Optimize database configurations for optimal performance.Database Backup and Recovery: Develop and maintain comprehensive backup and recovery strategies for Oracle databasesmiddot; Perform regular backups and test recovery procedures to ensure data recoverability.Database Monitoring and Alerts: Set up proactive monitoring and alerting for database health and performance issuesmiddot; Respond to alerts and incidents promptly to minimize service disruptions.Database Patching and Upgrades: Plan and execute Oracle Server and Oracle database patching and version upgrades following best practices.Database Automation and Scripting: Develop and maintain automation scripts and workflows to streamline routine database management tasks.Database Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation of database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Lead efforts to diagnose and resolve complex database-related issuesmiddot; Collaborate with Level 1 and Level 2 support and other teams to address escalated incidents.Database Project Management: Lead database-related projects, such as database migrations, consolidations, and performance enhancements.Requirements: Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience Several years of proven experience as a Level 3 Oracle Database Administrator with advanced knowledge of Oracle databasesmiddot; In-depth understanding of Server architecture, configuration, and performance tuningmiddot; Strong proficiency in Oracle database architecture, installation, configuration, and administrationmiddot; Expertise in database high availability solutions for Oracle databasesmiddot; Familiarity with database security, backup, and recovery best practicesmiddot; Experience with database clustering and load balancing technologies is advantageousmiddot; Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to diagnose and resolve complex database issuesmiddot; Excellent communication and leadership abilities to guide junior team members and collaborate with cross-functional teamsmiddot; Oracle (e.g., Oracle Database Administrator Certified Professional) are preferred.
