Senior Engineer, Embedded Software (Controls), Rockwell Automation, Inc., Eden Prairie, MN.

Work on requirements’ analysis and design of servo drive algorithms such as ethernet network communications, low level peripheral and memory drives, display management, state machines, motion control algorithms, fault detection, safety subsystems and encryption. Develop embedded code using C/C++ and modeling/simulation/code generation using MATLAB and Simulink. Create on-target testing of firmware using Python and/or PLC programming. Work with software development tools including Jenkins, TeamCity, GIT, Jira, Artifactory, Code Collaborator and Confluence. Work with requirements managements tools including JAMA and Qtest.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Must have a bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Engineering, Technology, or a related field, and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate related work experience.

Alternatively, the employer will accept a master’s degree in Engineering, Technology, or a related field, and 3 years of related work experience.

Must have 3 years of experience in each of the following:

•Experience in C/C++ programming and object-oriented design methods;
•Software development processes including Agile/Scrum and CI/CD;
•MATLAB/Simulink modeling tools and code generation; and
•Motion control systems and/or industrial automation.

Must have 1 year of experience in each of the following:

•Programmable logic controller (“PLC”) programming; and
•Python programming.

Telecommuting permitted up to 40%.

International travel required up to 5%; Domestic travel required up to 10%.
