Job Description:

Notes-This is a 12-hour shift three days each week, with the shift schedule being from 07:30 - 16:00, a total of 36 hours per week.

Work Location: 3700 Washington Avenue, Evansville, IN, 47714.

Department: Lab Cytology

Shift timings: 07:30 - 16:00 Hours. Monday to friday (3 Days/12 Hours)

Per Week: 36 Hours

Roles & Responsibilities

Perform microscopic examination of cellular samples, applying staining techniques and employing various laboratory equipment to identify and classify abnormal cells.

Interpret the morphological features of cells to detect the presence of precancerous or cancerous conditions, infections, or other abnormalities.

Collaborate with pathologists and other healthcare professionals to evaluate test results and contribute to the formulation of accurate diagnosis reports.

Maintain accurate records of samples analyzed, test results, and any necessary follow-up procedures or recommendations.

Ensure quality control measures are implemented and followed rigorously to maintain accuracy and reliability of laboratory results.

Stay updated with the latest advances in cytological techniques, diagnostic criteria, and equipment to ensure the highest standard of practice.

Provide guidance and support to laboratory staff, including training new technicians or assistants, as needed.

Adhere to established laboratory safety protocols, including the proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials.

Participate in quality improvement initiatives, including evaluating and implementing new laboratory procedures or technologies.

Communicate effectively with patients, explaining procedures and addressing any concerns or questions they may have regarding sample collection or test results.
