Perform software development responsibilities, including architecture and research activities, for applications, systems, framework, services/APIs, and UI/UX including instrument’s “on-board” software. Develop software solutions independently and as part of product solution team to integrate with and complement the instrument portfolio. Participate and lead team activities as assigned, including Story pointing, Sprint Reviews, Sprint Planning, Release Planning. Independently develop detailed software designs from requirements and guide junior team members’ design and development. Develop and execute unit test, integration tests and end-to-end tests, both automated and manual. Understand and practice test-driven development (TDD). Utilize software configuration management tools for issue tracking, source code control, documentation, and workflow management. Independently decompose stories and create detail tasks for completion in the sprint. Demonstrate advanced problem solving and innovation. Develop software components and frameworks. Follows company standards to properly comment and document code; contribute to new standards and guidelines. Maintain in-depth understanding of product business requirements; articulate the same to junior team members. Participate and lead code review as assigned: verify maintainability, extensibility and assure complexity has been minimized. Identify and resolve software bugs. Review requirements and design for accuracy and completeness. Contribute to and validate quality metrics compliance including unit test coverage and automated integration testing. Contribute to the team design to ensure integration of the product with internal product suite. Provide input to technical and architectural framework for the product. Provide guidance to Quality Engineers working and contributes to testing frameworks including continuous integration (CI). Perform basic research and provide input towards creation of strategic roadmap, as assigned. Perform research and develop product architectural design with R&D scientists and other team members, as assigned. Provide technical definition for products, and identify suitable technologies, components, and tools for product development, as assigned. Required Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field (or foreign degree equivalent). Required Experience: At least 3 years of software development experience. *Employer will also accept a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field (or foreign degree equivalent) and no professional experience.* Other Requirements: Demonstrated ability with C++ and JavaScript coding; Demonstrated ability with software design, full stack development and testing, including unit, integration, and stress testing; Demonstrated ability with software configuration tools including Surround and git; Demonstrated ability reviewing code to company standards; Demonstrated ability with software development lifecycle process including maintenance and support; Demonstrated ability building software distributions; Demonstrated ability creating and implementing complicated technical documentation to non-technical audiences. Aforementioned ability may be gained professionally or academically (through coursework, projects, internships). M-F, 9-5. $112,986 to $ 149,500/year.
