Job Duties:
Provide technical leadership as part of a team of systems engineers engaged in implementation of large scale projects working in a distributed development environment using Java as a core technology; lead discussions with customers to crystalize business requirements; interface with end-users for the purpose of design and implementation of new systems, troubleshooting problems with existing systems; convert requirements into engineering solutions using Java Enterprise/J2EE; perform detail design work for workflows, business rules, user interfaces and reports; designing/engineering/coding applications following specifications using the appropriate tools and adhering to coding standards; design and develop with a view to change, scalability, and reusability; and an emphasis on minimized maintenance; coordinate unit testing and integration testing with the development team and bug fixing with the testing team; perform maintenance and enhancement of existing systems. Employer is an IT consulting firm that assigns employees, often on short notice, to work at various project sites that cannot be anticipated significantly in advance of the assignment.
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Engineering (any field) plus five (5) of progressive post baccalaureate IT experience, including at least 3 years of systems design using Java Enterprise/J2EE, working in a distributed (onshore/offshore, internal/external) environment; OR

Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Engineering (any field) plus three (3) years training or work experience with core Java/J2EE technologies.
