Intern-(NEW0000006B)Description

The Opportunity:

The intern will be treated as an integral member of the practice and will be exposed to assignments that will develop understanding of the consulting environment, and specifically, analytical and strategic work relating to our Health Practice.

Key Responsibilities:

This position would be working with the CUBS (College and University Benefits Study) team to research and update a wide array of employee benefits (including medical, prescription drug, dental, disability, paid leave of various kinds, tuition benefits, retirement income, and retiree health, just to name a few) into the CUBS database. You would receive significant training on how all of these employee benefits work, and what is involved in their key provisions that need to be captured in the database. At a bare minimum, you will have a strong grasp of what each of these employee benefits can mean to you as an employee. Next, we will work together to perform a data audit on the database, to ensure the data is correct and it is reasonable. We then take the cleaned data and perform various analyses to set up percentile reporting and other statistics that we incorporate in our published CUBS biennial report. This leads to the creation of our internal and external (published) CUBS report. The faster and more aggressively our interns work, the more they will have the opportunity to see and experience throughout this project. This is a significant project that will keep two interns busy throughout the entire Summer. The position could possibly be a stepping stone towards a full time Associate position in our Corporate Health and Welfare consulting practice.

Qualifications

Requirements:

We seek a highly skilled candidate who is a business, economics, or math major, and who can work independently, with minimal supervision.

The Intern must have excellent written and oral communication skills, take initiative, interact well with staff at all levels,

Have excellent computer and internet research skills.

Previous work experience in a professional service environment is desirable but not mandatory.
