DUTIES: Conduct research on the structures and properties of a variety materials, to obtain information that could be used to develop new products or enhance existing ones. Plan laboratory experiments to confirm feasibility of processes and techniques used in the production of materials with special characteristic; execute and report test data on assigned tasks to supervisor. Participate in the execution of large-scale projects, applying laboratory procedures and ensuring good chemical hygiene; detect potential problems in developments of new products. Manage and execute, in a semi-autonomous way, limited scope projects (evaluation, management, formulation, tests, analysis and interpretation, report and conclusion). Record, compile and present activities as results in the required format; Prepare oral and written reports for Stakeholders. Apply assigned test methods in accordance with established quality procedures; Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, safety rules and instructions; Pay attention to detail and housekeeping responsibilities to maintain a safe working environment. May require travel/telecommuting.

REQUIREMENTS: Employer requires a Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Science or a related technical field plus 12 months of experience in job offered, Chemist, Materials Engineer, Materials Scientist, or related technical occupation. Experience must include: 1) R&D experience in cement-based materials, 2) Formulation skills, 3) mortar testing, 4) knowledge of cements and concrete admixtures, and 5) knowledge of supplementary cementitious materials.

SALARY: From $91,062 to $110,250
