Ithaka Harbors, Inc. seeks a Senior Software Engineer in New York, NY. Job duties include: Develop AWS applications to interact with AWS Glacier and S3 for long-term and real-time data storage and retrieval. Design data warehouse systems using best practices as well as event-driven systems using ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kafka). Implement agile scrum methodology of product designs, development, and maintenance. Identify bottlenecks and implement solutions and strategies for automated monitoring of the systems to resolve technical issues. Build out high-performance, elastic, and scalable web applications and web services. Must be willing to work remotely.

Candidates must have at least a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering or a related field, or equivalent as determined by a qualified credentials evaluation service, and at least 18 months of professional experience working in software development within the technology industry. Must have at least 18 months of experience participating in multiple phases of scrum methodology sprints, including swarming, grooming, planning and retrospectives. Must have at least 18 months of experience designing and developing Spring-Boot based micro-service products and frameworks and software services using Spring API for Restful architecture. Must have at least 6 months of experience performing discovery and research to introduce new tools and software components for end-to-end data pipelines. Must have at least 18 months of experience building reliable, scalable applications and providing system architecture and design amendments. Must be proficient in Java and Spring.
