Lead Software QA Engineer, UKG Inc., San Francisco, CA

Responsible for designing, developing, and implementing automated cost-effective methods of software testing, troubleshooting systems, and equipment for all phases of product development. Will also develop, modify, and execute software test plans, automated scripts, and programs for testing. Specific duties include:

• Debugging software products using systematic tests to develop and maintain quality standards for go-to-market human capital management (HCM) and workforce management products for cloud, mobility, and web.
• Providing feedback in preparation of technical appraisals of programming languages, systems, and computation software.
• Ensuring quality computer integration into the overall functions of scientific computation, data acquisition, and processing.
• Solving complex issues and using analytical thinking to identify innovative technical solutions.
• Supporting design, development, and testing of enterprise availability and supportability platform.
• Developing, writing, and reviewing product lifecycle deliverables, including product backlog, requirements specifications, sprint plans, risk analyses, and traceability documentation.
• Developing and executing software test strategies and performing functional black box and white box, GUI, integration, system, and regression tests.
• Maintaining and improving continuous integration and testing environments.
• Implementing test automation for the next-generation SaaS Application in a fast-paced, agile environment, using Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, and Continuous Deployment concepts.
• Transforming manual test documentation into robust, efficient automated test scripts and increasing automation coverage.
• Adhering to and promoting standards for test development Agile practices such as Kanban and Scrum.
• Reviewing business and functional requirements documents to create appropriate test documentation.
• Following functional testing and software best practices (TDD, BDD).
• Utilizing test automation, automation frameworks, and test tool creation (i.e. Echo, Selenium Web Driver, Java, and Junit).
• Utilizing API testing or Web Services Testing using .Net framework, SOAP, UI, Postman, Rest-based services, and React Framework-based front-end testing environments.
• Solving complex technical issues by using analytical thinking to identify or develop innovative solutions that may set a precedent.
• Defining test strategies and designing, developing, and executing automation solutions.

Requirements:

The position requires a bachelor’s degree (or an equivalent foreign degree) in IT, Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics/Bioinformatics, or a closely related field and 5 years of experience as a Software QA Engineer. Must also have 5 years of experience (which can have been gained concurrently with the primary experience requirement above) working with the following:

• Managing end-to-end software testing activities including creating test plans, and test scripts, performing test execution and reporting, and testing handoff/completion reports;
• Leading and guiding global QA and cross-functional teams and writing technical estimations for Product Management and Engineering Leadership.
• Performing Defect Management using Test management tools including Microsoft Test Manager and QC-ALM – Quality Center, Project management using JIRA orTeam Foundation Server, Clear Quest, CI/CD and test data management using SQL;
• Reporting test metrics and assisting business users with UAT preparation;
• Quick Test Professional, Selenium (Java), or Cucumber;
• Performing web service testing using SOAP UI and Postman.

This is a hybrid position working 3 days each week from the UKG Inc. office in San Francisco, CA and 2 days each week from home.
