COMPANY OVERVIEW: Our client is the premier provider of full service maintenance, turnaround, capital projects, refractory, soft crafts, and fabrication.

POSITION: Director - Mechanical Services

COMPENSATION: Competitive salary + DOE

LOCATION: Texas and Louisiana

SUMMARY: The primary function of the Director of Mechanical Services is to develop a Team Member oriented, high-performance culture consistent with company vision, values, and leadership competencies. The Director will provide management oversight for the services the company provides within the Major Project and Turnaround Division.

DUTIES OR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Promote and exemplify the companys visions and values.
Conduct a bi-weekly staff meeting with his/her direct reports.
Develop and manage accurate annual budgets.
Manage their region within the parameters of the budget and communicate any significant deviations to the Sr VP as soon as they are identified.
Work directly with the accounting group to provide accurate and timely monthly financial reporting. This is to include detailed variance analysis.
Provide monthly Regional Reports in conjunction with financial information. This report to outline past months deviation analysis and action plans.
Provide quarterly Regional Reports in conjunction with financial information. This report to outline past quarters deviation analysis and action plan along with identifying strategic opportunities.
Makes recommendations to the Sr VP to minimize the companys risk and exposure with clients, vendors, sub-contractors, and team members.
Develop annual revenue monthly projections for their region and distribute with the monthly financial information.
Maintain, manage, and improve the companys relationship with its clients. Must meet core clients quarterly at a minimum.
Develops, implements, and enhances the Operating Procedures of the Division.
Develops, takes ownership, assigns responsibilities, and insures implementation of the divisions strategic initiatives.
Conduct regularly scheduled one-on-one meetings with all direct reports to maintain communications and ensure accountability within the division.
Conduct formal annual appraisals on all direct reports.
Implements and enforces all the companys policies and procedures.
Promotes a learning environment for all team members.
Develop and maintain a 24-month projection of revenues and long-term resource requirements (manpower, equipment, etc.) to successfully manage and expand operations in his/her region.
Identify and pursue potential new markets, aligned with the Business Strategy Process and coordinate marketing activities with the Business Development Manager.
Coordinate the assignment of Management Development Program participants with the Human Resources Department.
Ensure readiness and post job reviews are conducted on all projects.
Recognizes accomplishments of team members at all levels of the company
Resolves conflicts to minimize risk to the company.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Must have 10 years of project management and supervisory experience at the Director level in the industrial and petrochemical industry and/or mechanical construction industry.
Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering, construction management or business administration is preferred. MBA HIGHLY PREFERRED.
A strong book of contacts/relationships in refining and Petrochem, including an employee following.
Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
Ability to successfully plan and execute mechanical turnaround and construction work in an industrial or petrochemical facility.
Ability to demonstrate mechanical principles, techniques, and work processes.
Ability and willingness to travel as needed.
Excellent contract negotiation skills, as well as knowledge of purchasing and contract management.
Ability to multi-task and manage several departments within the division.
Strong working knowledge of computers, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
Ability to effectively delegate duties and responsibilities.
