HCA Solutions is seeking a PCP for OMHSAS - Danville State Hospital in Danville, PA!
This is a full-time, contracted, W-2 position.

CONTRACT/ SCOPE/OVERVIEW

This contract will cover the requirements of the Medical/Somatic Physician Services with the Department of Human Services (DHS) / Danville State Hospital (DSH).

LOCATION

The location is Danville State Hospital, 50 Kirkbride Drive, Danville, Pa. 17821. The patient population consists of adult psychiatric patients at least 18 years of age. DSH has a bed capacity of 161 consumers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Each Contractor must provide any and/or all of the following documentation as required by DSH for each certified/licensed Resource that is deployed to a location:

Copy of current/valid unrestricted Pennsylvania license (signed) or applicable certification
License/certification in good standing
Copy of current professional CPR certificate
Listing of Continuing Education courses, including title of course, dates attended, and number of CME hours earned for the current licensure period
Copy of DEA certificate
Copy of Board Certification certificate (if applicable)
Valid Medicare/Medicaid ID number and a copy of National Practitioner Identifier number notification
Evidence of malpractice or applicable insurance
Copy of Medical School Diploma
Copy of Residency Training Certificate(s)
Copy of ECFMG Certificate (if applicable)
Photograph of applicant
Other as deemed necessary by DSH
MEDICAL PHYSICIAN MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

Verification that the Pennsylvania state medical license is active and in order, with no restrictions or adverse actions taken against it.

National Practitioner Data Bank (NPDB) query, again in order to screen out for any adverse actions taken against the applicant.

American Medical Association (AMA) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA) profile of the applicant to verify medical training, residency training, DEA, etc.

Federation of State Medical Boards (FSMB) to check status of medical licenses in other states, including any restrictions or adverse actions taken against the license.

Knowledge of the theories, principles, practices and techniques used in the field of psychiatry, and the relationships between diagnostic findings and therapeutic methodologies.

Knowledge of mental illnesses, their symptoms, treatment and social implications.

Knowledge of the application of psychiatry to individual and group behavior.

Knowledge of the theories and principles used in the field of neurology, general medicine and surgery.

Knowledge of laboratory methods, equipment and techniques as they relate to the field of psychiatry.

Ability to examine residents, interpret results of findings, make decisions and to prescribe or carry out course of treatment.

Ability to communicate with and gain the confidence and cooperation of patients and to instill and maintain a cooperative attitude throughout the care and treatment process.

Possible call coverage in house.

Ability to direct and instruct hospital staff in current, accepted treatment principles and techniques used in the field of medicine and psychiatry.

Ability to follow general instructions and departmental or hospital policies in carrying out the care and treatment function.

Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with residents, departmental or hospital personnel, and the general public.

Completion of residency training program.

Board Certification in medicine/surgery preferred.

Possession of a current/valid unrestricted license, in good standing, to practice medicine in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as issued by the State Board of Medical Education and Licensure, or the State Board of Osteopathic Examiners.

Current/valid unrestricted D.E.A. Certificate.

Documented Continuing Medical Education credits as required for current licensure in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Valid Medicare/Medicaid ID number.

Evidence of malpractice insurance.

Minimum of one year experience in treating people with medical and mental health issues.

Experience in participating within a multidisciplinary team.

The candidate must meet all requirements for credentialing and privileging and medical staff membership at Danville State Hospital. The candidates clinical privileges and medical staff membership at Danville State Hospital shall terminate upon termination of employment or termination of the contract, whichever comes first.
