You will work closely with engineering teams to interpret electrical schematics and ensure that panels meet quality standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Panel Assembly: Construct electrical control panels according to engineering drawings and specifications. This involves mounting components such as circuit breakers, relays, terminal blocks, and control devices onto back panels or enclosures.

  2. Wiring: Perform wiring tasks including routing cables, connecting wires to components, and labeling wires according to schematic diagrams. Ensure proper wire sizing, routing, and termination techniques are followed to maintain safety and reliability.

  3. Testing and Troubleshooting: Conduct functional tests on completed panels to verify proper operation and adherence to design requirements. Troubleshoot and resolve any issues identified during testing, which may involve diagnosing wiring errors, component failures, or compatibility issues.

  4. Quality Assurance: Maintain high standards of workmanship and quality control throughout the panel building process. Inspect finished panels for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with relevant standards and regulations.

  5. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of panel assembly and testing activities, including component lists, wiring diagrams, test results, and inspection reports. Ensure documentation is up-to-date and accessible for future reference.

  6. Collaboration: Work collaboratively with engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance teams to ensure effective communication and coordination throughout the panel building process. Provide feedback on design improvements, process optimization, and resource requirements.

  7. Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries in the workplace. Follow relevant safety regulations and guidelines, including those related to electrical hazards, personal protective equipment (PPE), and lockout/tagout procedures.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Electrical Knowledge: Strong understanding of electrical principles, components, and circuits. Familiarity with electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in panel assembly techniques, wiring methods, and electrical testing procedures. Experience with hand and power tools commonly used in panel building.

  • Attention to Detail: Ability to work meticulously and accurately to ensure proper assembly and wiring of control panels. Strong focus on quality and precision.

  • Problem-Solving: Effective troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve issues encountered during panel assembly and testing. Ability to identify root causes and implement appropriate solutions.

  • Communication: Clear verbal and written communication skills to interact with engineering teams, colleagues, and supervisors. Ability to convey technical information effectively.

  • Teamwork: Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team. Willingness to share knowledge, learn from others, and contribute to collective goals.

  • Safety Consciousness: Commitment to following safety protocols and practices to maintain a safe work environment. Knowledge of electrical safety standards and regulations.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Additional technical training or certification in electrical assembly or panel building preferred.

  • Previous experience in panel building, electrical assembly, or related field is advantageous.

  • Familiarity with industrial control systems, PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), and HMI (Human-Machine Interface) devices is a plus.
