Responsibilities:
Duties include the following:
(1) Lead a team of two to four engineers while still making individual code contributions;
(2) Actively participate in code reviews, mentor Junior Engineers, and assist them in growing their engineering skills;
(3) Provide engineering performance feedback;
(4) Design and implement frontend features using React to support Customer Success managers in helping customers grow their businesses;
(5) Plan decisions with reliability, maintainability, usability, readability, performance, and scalability of the overall solution in mind;
(6) Participate in design discussions and provide technical direction for any new features;
(7) Perform Pager duty (on call rotations for operational support); and
(8) Carry out system testing, debugging, and provide updates as well as fixes for any software issues reported.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Employer requires candidate to have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a closely related field and five (5) years of progressively more responsible work experience as a software engineer or closely related occupation.
Alternatively, Employer will accept a Master’s degree in Computer Science or a closely related field and two (2) years of work experience as a software engineer or closely related occupation.
Candidate must also have the following:
(1) Demonstrated ability working with large-scale systems with React, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and Version Control (Git) gained through two (2) years of work experience;
(2) Demonstrated ability building user-friendly and accessible user interfaces gained through two (2) years of work experience;
(3) Demonstrated ability to solve complicated technical problems and analyze tradeoffs between engineering teams and business users gained through two (2) years of work experience;
(4) Demonstrated knowledge of frontend testing, including Unit Testing, Acceptance Testing, Accessibility Testing, and Regression Testing gained through two (2) years of work experience;
(5) Demonstrated ability collaborating with UX designers and project managers to plan features, and scope projects and initiatives gained through one (1) year of work experience; and
(6) Demonstrated ability to lead projects and mentor junior engineers to improve their ability to write efficient code gained through one (1) year of work experience.
All years of experience may be gained concurrently.
