Our client is an Architectural, Planning & Engineering firm looking for a Civil Engineer. This person will play a key role in collaborating with the sales team, vendors, and project teams.
This hands-on position involves managing 25+ projects at various stages, with project durations ranging from 6 to 18 months. The typical day includes project team meetings, spending most of the time in the office, and less time on-site. The position encompasses project planning, design, preparation of construction documents and reports, oversight of construction projects, and client contact related to projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Preparing detailed technical engineering reports. Preparing plans and specifications for specific projects. Working with Construction Observers/Resident Technicians during all facets of construction. Assisting the Project Manager in completing projects within budget and on schedule. Leading the creation of project proposals. Leading portions of/or entire project teams in planning, design, and construction. Engaging in client contact, including attendance at board or council meetings. Managing projects, ensuring successful completion on time and within budget. Guiding staff and/or utilize Civil3D for plan preparation.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or a related field. Civil 3D/AutoCAD knowledge and proficiency. Strong written and verbal communication skills (required). Ability to keep clear and concise project records and files. Up to 10 years of civil engineering design experience preferred/desired. Iowa PE license or EIT certification or the ability to obtain either within 6 months preferred.
MUST HAVE:
5+ years of Civil engineering experience Bachelors degree in civil engineering or related field Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certification Ability to Obtain a Professional Engineer License (PE) within a year
