Title: Application Support Analyst Location: City of London, United Kingdom
Full Time
Our client is seeking an Application Support Analyst who will work closely with the Global Development and Trading Platforms Support teams. The London Application Support team is part of the Global Application Support Team which provides follow the sun support for Applications globally. The team are responsible for application service transition and provide 2nd line & 3rd line support of business applications, investigating everyday operational requirements and problems as well as contributing to improvements.
The main duties of this role will include the:
Support and administration of Microsoft SQL Server based applications and other applications.
Support and administration of multiple third party and in-house applications.
Automation of repetitive tasks.
Liaise with software/ISV/platform vendors on the development of system enhancements to overcome known problems or further fulfil user requirements.
Document technical and operational processes to ensure the efficient capture and transfer of knowledge.
Release management and planning.
Assist with the role out of Azure / DevOps
Work with and help manage external vendors and service providers.
Log, review and update IT related incidents & problems into the IT service desk system, ensuring SLAs are met.
Prepare and document test plans and test cases for acceptance testing.
Recommend and implement good procedure and practices.
Test, evaluate and support new technology and applications.
Work with minimal supervision, effectively prioritizing workload.
Participate in IT related meetings as required
Be part of the Global Follow the Sun Application Support Team. London IT Shift Rota covers the hours of 7:00am 6:00pm Monday- Friday. Some weekend work should also be expected.
Ensure GDPR standards are maintained.
Assist with CASS based requests & requirements escalating CASS issues and concerns as required.
Assistant with tasks and projects as assigned by Line Manager.
Your Profile
The successful candidate will possess the following:
Required Skills
Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills
Strong technical skills in MS-SQL Administration & T-SQL
Strong technical skills in Scripting (i.e. Ruby, Python, Powershell)
Strong understanding of financial products particularly equities, exchange traded derivatives and foreign exchange
Good oral and written communication skills, being able to communicate effectively at both a business and technical level
Experienced in producing good quality technical documentation
Strong interpersonal skills
Basic understanding of ITIL Application lifecycle management/Service Transition
Basic ITIL experience of incident, change and problem management
Experience of working within a global, follow-the-sun team an advantage
