Location: Minneapolis, MN


About the Role:


We are looking for a Divisional Vice President/Business Unit Controller who will be instrumental in overseeing all accounting activities and global financial operations within our client's dynamic business unit. This role will serve as a key strategic partner to the global leadership team, focused on enhancing operating performance through precise measurement, forecasting, and actionable recommendations.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Ensure the integrity of accounting and financial operations, maintaining effective internal controls across all operations and locations.

  • Provide comprehensive financial reviews to management, encompassing monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.

  • Collaborate with sales and operations to optimize working capital, balancing inventory, accounts payable, and accounts receivable effectively.

  • Forecast business activity and financial positioning, advising on income, expenses, and earnings.

  • Lead budget preparation, including analysis, documentation, and justification.

  • Coordinate audits, fulfill internal and external audit requirements, and ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX).

  • Engage in due diligence for potential acquisitions and develop supporting financial models and analyses.

  • Spearhead IT strategy in alignment with Division IT Directors vision, overseeing technology management.

  • Act as a company representative to external parties, including government agencies and auditors.

  • Hire, mentor, and manage department staff, ensuring professional development and performance excellence.


Requirements:



  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; MBA and CPA highly preferred.

  • Over 10 years experience in leadership roles within operational accounting.

  • Prior experience at a public accounting firm, Six Sigma, and Lean Manufacturing knowledge advantageous.


Qualifications:



  • Exceptional team player with strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

  • Detail-oriented with a strategic outlook and the ability to understand the broader business picture.

  • Willingness to engage deeply with business operations to enhance profitability.

  • Ability to travel internationally and manage a global team.

  • Solid understanding of GAAP, SEC reporting, Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, and Manufacturing Finance.

  • Skilled in working within a matrix organization and forming effective business partnerships.

  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Hyperion Enterprise, and contemporary ERP systems.
