This is a full-time on-site role for a Water Resources Engineer located in Thomasville, GA within driving distance of Tallahassee, FL. Remote candidates will be considered who live or are willing to relocate to North Florida or South Georgia.
The Water Resources Engineer will be responsible for day-to-day tasks, including, but not limited to, stormwater management, water quality analysis, hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, water distribution, and wastewater collection. The Water Resources Engineer will prepare reports, conduct site assessments and surveys, and design, and oversee construction projects.
The Water Resources Engineer applies broad knowledge of principles and practices in water resource-related civil engineering and land development projects. He/she works on multiple projects of moderate size or portions of major projects. This position requires independent evaluation, selection, and adaptation of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria. With a growth mindset, the Water Resources Engineer will acquire a general knowledge of principles and practices of related fields and the ability to function on multidisciplinary teams.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Designs and prepares complete project documents. Contributes to the continual improvement of processes and deliverables. Assigns tasks to and directs engineers, technicians, and administrative staff. Plans and coordinates detailed aspects of the engineering work. Prepares scopes, budgets, and schedules for assignments. Assists with proposals to provide professional services or obtain funding for engineering projects or programs. Receives general direction on key objectives. Receives guidance when necessary on unconventional or complex problems, direction on modified techniques, and new approaches on assignments with conflicting criteria. Interacts with clientele, and travels to clients, customers, officials, contractors, and others as needed.
Qualifications 4+ years of experience Water Resource Management and Hydrology skills Stormwater and Stormwater Management skills Experience in water quality analysis Excellent technical writing skills and ability to prepare detailed reports Experience designing and managing construction projects related to water resources Proficiency in relevant software, including AutoCAD, ICPR4, ArcGIS, and Civil 3D Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field Professional Engineering (PE) License is preferred
Relevant skills and qualifications that would be beneficial include experience with erosion and sediment controls, familiarity with state and federal regulations related to water resources, and experience working on projects in the Southeast US.
