Responsibilities
Tasks
1. Prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs.
2. Prepare master format estimates (Class A).
3. Prepare elemental format estimates (Classes B, C, D).
4. Operate CADD and other computer software systems.
5. Prepare estimates for general expenses and overheads.
6. Project cash flow and financing requirements.
7. Estimate pre-contract costs.
8. Advise on tendering procedures.
9. Analyze tenders and recommend awards.
10. Monitor and adjust contract expenditures.
11. Prepare and maintain directory of supplies and trade contractors.
12. Liaise, consult and communicate with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
