Please note that this position is onsite To be considered for this position, the client has advised that upon placement, consultants will be required to wear a mask under certain circumstances, show proof of full vaccination or submit on a weekly basis proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR diagnostic test Requirements and skills Bachelor's degree (preferably in Information Technology) with a minimum of 8 years' experience in IT Support. The successful candidate should possess strong technical knowledge of various computing platforms from servers, networks, storage including scripting experience for automation. Must have the ability to lift/transport server equipment when needed. Must be able to provide off-hour, on-call support for workstation, server and other system related issues that requires travel to various supported sites. Must be willing and able to work overtime and be flexible with work hours to respond to emergencies or scheduled work that must be done either prior to or after normal business hours. Must have the means and be able to travel to various Company locations. Must have a valid driver's license. Selected candidate will require passing of NERC CIP Personnel Risk Assessment background check. The ideal candidate is well organized, detail-oriented, flexible to handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines with safety mind set. This individual must also exercise good judgment and render sound business decisions. The applicant should possess strong oral and written communication skills and able to produce documentation on solutions and system design. Seeking a highly motivated candidate who demonstrates a strong commitment to customer service and possesses strong technical skills and proficiency working with: Windows Server/desktop operating systems, users administration, file system, software, and services Understanding of server and various storage RAID configuration Active Directory management, including backup and recovery of domain and GPO setup Fundamental networking concepts and troubleshooting such as DHCP, DNS, Routing, Firewall Fundamental understanding of security principles, ACL, Encryption Scripting: PowerShell, bash, ksh or perl for automating routine tasks Experienced with monitoring system health and performance, able to provide statistics to identify bottlenecks and lead optimization efforts Disaster recovery planning and ability to perform backup and restore for systems, applications and data Patch and firmware installation and management Strong customer service mindset, providing plus-1 end user support experience Desired Skills Linux/Unix system administration, Cyber Security best practices, Networking certification, Anti-Virus (Trend Micros), Veeam Backup, Monitoring tools (SolarWinds), Tanium, Dragos Responsibilities End user support of critical business operation users. Daily maintenance, patching and troubleshooting of systems, verify and ensure backups are scheduled and successful. The candidate will work with other IT and Business groups to ensure/facilitate task completion. They will participate in configuring, designing, and implementing system upgrades. This individual must be familiar with server monitoring tools. They will also be assigned projects to automate various manual processes through scripting. Must track user requests and document workload. Respond and close out Email requests or IT ServiceNow tickets in a timely manner. Build, manage and update Windows workstation and server systems Participate in weekly team meets and present the progress of assigned work Monitor server performance and availability Scripting skills with PowerShell bash, ksh or perl able to reverse engineer existing scripts Understanding of system security and secured data transfer concepts and solutions Provide first-level and second level server troubleshooting and response Servers and storage equipment racking, wiring Interface with support vendors when required Create documentation and procedures for day to day and major tasks as needed Compliance with department policies, standards on work and safety
