Are you a Swiss Army Knife of electrical and mechanical skill sets? Can you perform highly diversified maintenance duties - installing, troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining food processing machinery? We are a homegrown company with very low employee turnover, lots of long-timers, 4 lines and 3 shifts. This position will have the option of choosing a shift!
What You Will Do *Independently repair and maintain industrial machinery that includes mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. *Lead emergency/unscheduled repairs of equipment during production and maintain continuous production. *Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments. *Support inventory management system by keeping track of the parts and helping to order the required PM parts. *Lead regular preventive maintenance of machines, equipment and plant facilities and help in scheduling PMs. *Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper authority. *Modify and repair production equipment to improve production capacities. *Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas. *Operate welders, lathe, milling machine, and electronic monitoring equipment to make repair parts. *Support lead mechanics for process development project management and come up with process development ideas. *Train new mechanics to help make them capable of regular maintenance and troubleshooting equipment. *Troubleshoot and repair air compressor failures. Perform annual preventive maintenance functions on all pneumatic systems. *Operate and maintain Ammonia Refrigeration systems. Perform minor repairs to piping, valving, and cold storage equipment. (coils, doors, circulating fans) *Troubleshoot process electrical problems. Maintain electrical systems. *Replace motor, control wiring, as required. *Operate boilers. Perform routine inspections for boiler pressure required by the State of Oregon. Complete boiler inspections sheet on a shift basis and monitors chemical usage and perform chemical analysis daily. *Perform facility duties as required. *Perform other/additional duties and projects that may be periodically assigned. *Help in ISO and other related audits.
What You Need to Have: *Experience in this type of job role in a food manufacturing company. *5+ years of experience in mechanical maintenance, or equivalent combination of education and experience. *LME (Limited Maintenance Electrician) license. *RETA (Refrigerating Engineers & Technicians Association) certificate preferred. *If you're a Sr. Maintenance Tech then we don't need to list all the things...you've done it! *Strong organizational skills *Must be able to communicate clearly in writing and verbally. *Good oral communication skills
