Urban Solutions a building design and drafting company that has been servicing the Mornington Peninsula and surrounding areas since 1986 is now seeking an Architectural Draftsperson to join their team. With a rich accumulation of experience across, building design and project management, Urban solutions offer wide range of services that includes whole building preparation package in building design, Design assistance and drafting services, construction advice, energy ratings and permit application coordination and bushfire assessment services. Their building designing is offered to both private and commercial/industrial clients in spanning various project categories including new homes, renovations, additions (single or double storey), garages and carports, decks, balconies and verandas, dual occupancies, unit developments, townhouse developments, industrial/factory developments and commercial/office developments.

In this role, close collaboration with external consultants and contractors such as Town planners, Architects, Builders, Building Surveyors, Site Surveyors, Engineers will be pivotal throughout all project phases.
The position will entail:
Read and interpret architectural plans, drawings and specifications for each project and determine clients needs and preferences.
Conducting Site measures to collecting data of existing site and building conditions using surveying instruments and prepare as built documents.
Preparing and developing town planning applications as per Victorian planning scheme.
Coordinate design and documentation required for the town planning stage including liaising with clients, consultants, contractors and relevant authorities.
Preparing preliminary sketches and working drawings
Documentation of multiple projects of varying sizes (new build, renovations and extensions) and liaison with clients in preparation of alterations to plans during the preconstruction stages.
Prepare and submission of detailed working drawings and refined construction details (including window and material schedules) using Revit and AutoCAD (in 2D and 3D).
Extensive familiarity with DDA and NCC/BCA, Australian Standards, and other relevant regulations.
Resolve queries during the construction phase as and when required.

Skills & Experience required to be successful
Minimum 2-3 years relevant professional experience
A Degree qualification in Architecture or Drafting
Solid technical skills with a good understanding of Revit modelling, detailing and documentation
Ability to work on multiple projects and exceptional attention to detail to ensure that components meet exact specifications
Ability to work independently and the ability to collaborate seamlessly within a dynamic team
Passionate about design and sustainability and a proactive problem-solving attitude, always seeking opportunities to improve processes and optimise production
Strong communication, interpersonal and liaising skills
