Skills and Competencies:

• ISeries AS/400 Programmer utilizing of RPG, RPG-ILE, COBOL, SQL, AS/400 environments, DB2 Database.
• Ability to write program specification and coding from program specifications is required.
• Ability to work with APIs and various integration techniques cross platforms.
• Knowledge and experience with modeling and designing DB2 and SQL on AS/400.
• Ability to solve difficult problems and deal with a variety of variables without a defined right-answer.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Ability to deal effectively with ambiguity and changing priorities.

Good to have skillset:

• AS400 System Administration Platform, work management, user management, journal management, and performance management.
• Experience with IBM i / iSeries design, creation, execution of custom CL scripts for automation as/where needed.
• Experience in Online utility: Running Reorgs, Runstats, Backup/Recovery of Tablespaces (copy/recover), Repair and Load/Unload utilities, Expertise in applying PTF and tools upgrade for DB2 system/tools on AS400.
• Demonstrable skills in iBMi native job scheduler and Advanced Job Scheduler, iSeries Navigator, and IBMi Access Client Solution. Experience in Backup and Recovery Media Services (BRMS).
• Experience in Server migrations Identifies the actions required to handle error messages and system reference codes, SAL PAL HMC Handling hardware-related issues (Tape Library, Hardware management console, disk failure, etc) backup issues, and distribution queue issues.
• Maintenance activity in the AS400 servers to replace any H/W or upgrade activity.
• Support Disaster Recovery planning and tests as scheduled Lead daily Operations meetings provided there are no P1 incidents running Planning, Designing, and implementing of the Backup/Restoration process.
• Server Upgradation in hardware/Software/OS coordinating with IBM.
• Troubleshooting skills for data, application/system performance problems by utilizing tools like IBM iDoctor, DBMON Traces and Job watcher.
