Summary:
Sunoco LP is the largest wholesale fuel supplier in the U.S., supplying fuel to over 8,000 locations in North America.
Category Analyst will work with Category Managers an all aspects of category development to include collecting, entering, processing, and analyzing data to ensure appropriate analysis, monitoring, and execution of business plan. Understanding of consumer trends and behaviors. Ability to analyze internal and external data to uncover trends and gaps.
Job Responsibilities
Works with Category Manager to plan and coordinate activities necessary to successfully accomplish category business plans and results Identify and solve business issues through not only ad hoc reports, but through category and line reviews Effectively work on projects that achieve financial objectives in a timely manner Researches, complies, and analyzes sales results, product/supplier performance, pricing analysis, competitive and trend information; make recommendations based on analysis Analyzes category productivity by developing financial analysis systems and creating monthly category management reports Maintains category files, spreadsheets, records, and publications in accordance with company policies and procedures Ability to identify possible actions and solutions Strong excel experience for database management Works closely with supporting teams on pricing activity, item/vendor set-up, inventory/supply chain, monitoring allowances. Ensures accuracy of data entered by Price Book Time management is key to ensure departmental priorities and deadlines are met Must be a team player while able to work independently Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelors degree preferred; or equivalent experience Minimum 2-5 years of relevant experience Proficient in Microsoft Office, primarily Excel and PowerPoint Experience with IRI, Nielsen, Focal Point, JDA, or other space management softwares Excellent presentation and communication skills, written and verbal Ability to identify market trends and develop a plan to achieve financial goals Self-starter who excels in solving in-store problems. Usually, normal field and office working conditions. Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing. Overnight travel is required. Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
