Position Summary: The Engineering Manager is tasked with overseeing and maintaining manufacturing engineering functions. This role involves planning, directing, and coordinating engineering operations across all corporate sites, including managing budgets, leading capital projects, providing technical guidance, and supporting various business aspects. Additionally, the Engineering Manager will supervise and lead teams of Project, Industrial, Packaging, and Controls Engineers.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Manage capital projects across all facilities and equipment, including identifying optimal equipment and processes, conducting financial analyses, cultivating supplier relationships, and controlling project costs.

  • Oversee assigned projects, delegating tasks as necessary to ensure proper involvement and ownership from business units.

  • Provide leadership to direct reports, including career development, performance assessment, and project delegation.

  • Collaborate with support departments and manufacturing personnel to address production and quality-related issues.

  • Partner closely with R&D, New Product Development, and Operations teams on various projects, such as design improvements, maintenance, reformulation, and new manufacturing processes.

  • Establish and maintain effective communication channels with all levels of management and functional departments.

  • Review product and equipment designs for compliance with engineering standards, safety regulations, and governmental laws.

  • Offer technical support across operational segments, including manufacturing facilities, production equipment, and regulatory compliance.

  • Directly oversee plant capital equipment investments and ensure necessary documentation and resources for process standardization.

  • Provide senior technical leadership in safety, continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, and Six Sigma initiatives, identifying opportunities for process and asset improvements while meeting financial goals.


Qualifications:



  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent technical education/experience.

  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years in manufacturing/mechanical engineering within a manufacturing setting.

  • Skills:

    • Strong management skills with a track record of leadership success.

    • Effective interpersonal skills for internal and external communication.

    • Proven execution skills and proactive leadership in achieving operational engineering goals.

    • Proficiency in influencing and negotiation.

    • Familiarity with AutoCAD and Micros; desired skills include experience in food manufacturing, thermal processes, canning industry, and proficiency in Spanish.
