Hiring an Automotive Refinisher

Job requirements
-Completion of secondary school is required.
-Completion of a two- to three-year automotive painter apprenticeship program or a combination of one year of work experience in the automotive refinishing technicians trade and completion of a high school or college automotive painting program is required for automotive refinishing technicians trade certification.
-Apprenticeship / Red Seal endorsement is available.
-Ability to work independently as well as contribute to a team
-Ability to communicate and interact effectively with co-workers
- ICAR Gold or platinum is an asset.
-Red Seal license is an asset.
- Sikkens Autowave experience is an asset, but we will facilitate and assist with any retraining required.

Main duties include but are not limited to:
- Review body work for quality and completeness when it enters the paint department
- Sanding, masking, and preparing vehicles and parts for paint
- Colour match and mix paint
- Refinish vehicles and parts to pre-accident condition
- Complete all work noted on repair orders
- Support development of junior apprentices
- Maintain cleanliness of workstation and equipment
- Wet sand and polish any paint defects or dirt nibs
- Maximize efficiency material usage

Working Condition:
- 40 working hours per week (Full-time & Permanent position) for $35.00 per hour
- 10 days paid vacation per year or 4% vacation pay and Extended Health Insurance.
