Center for Improving Value in Health Care (CIVHC) seeks Health Care Data Analyst in Denver, CO. The Health Care Analyst is an expert at finding patterns in data and telling stories through original visualizations. The analyst enjoys collaborative development, brainstorming, and creating innovative data reporting solutions to improve value in healthcare. The analyst is detail-oriented, self-motivated, and intellectually curious. The analyst is committed to CIVHC's Triple Aim of better health, better care, and lower costs. As part of the Analytics and Reporting team, the Health Care Data Analyst will support research, analytics, and reporting to put the CO APCD data into action. In addition to the technical expertise requirements, this position contributes to problem solving and the success of the team and CIVHC. Professional experience interacting with health care professionals, academics, and community groups, and connecting data and analytics to health is not required, but would be a significant benefit. Success in this position will be measured by the quality of analytics and reporting produced, including compliance, accuracy, comprehensiveness, documentation, and usability. This position is 80% telecommute and the employee needs to live within commuting distance of the company worksite.



Requires: Master’s degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Data Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field and 6 months of health care claim analysis experience.



Specific skills/other requirements – Must also possess the following (quantitative experience requirements not applicable to this section): Experience working with big data in an enterprise warehouse environment, In-depth knowledge of claim billing and processing, Analytic and reporting experience using SQL, Interpret data models, data dictionaries; complex queries, Analyze healthcare claims, commercial claims, Medicare and Medicaid claims, Write and present data summaries to technical and nontechnical audiences, Healthcare industry coding (revenue codes, ICD classifications, and CPT codes), Personal Health Information (PHI) regulations, including HIPAA and CITI.
