HIM & Privacy Manager

• Day Shift - ONSITE

The Health Information Management (HIM) and Privacy Manager works collaboratively with management, providers, staff, and patients to optimize the document imaging, chart analysis, document storing, release of information, and transcription processes. This position manages activities of the Health Information Management Department related to the development, implementation, and maintenance of health information in compliance with federal and state laws and generally accepted HIM best practices. This position ensures the efficient and effective daily operation of patient data, task queues, and adequate staffing coverage of all areas of responsibility and directs the allocation of human resources and supplies to ensure efficient and accurate operations. This position will use critical thinking and analytical skills to complete special projects. This position supports and maintains ongoing processes and procedures that allow for accurate, complete, and timely verification of patient information, as well as organizational mission, vision, values, and regulatory standards. This position will work with legal counsel, compliance, risk management, IT, and other HIM staff to ensure the organization complies with all requirements of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA).
