Job Duties: Responsible for all Business Development commercial activities for Ford, Volkswagen and associated Tier customers Request For Quotations (RFQs), Engineering Change Management and the New Product Review (NPR) product launch process for all assigned programs; Actively seek new profitable customer opportunities through an advanced engineering and market research approach, leading to high potential opportunities; Quote management for new business and engineering change RFQs, internal and external customer processing, feasibility assessment, presentation and negotiation to Ford and VW through their systems and a close relationship with purchasing/engineering; Facilitate and oversee the development of program launch timelines, milestones, and program launch materials that meet customer’s requirements, such as Ford eAPQP; Manage the program/product’s financial metrics, such as pricing, profit, cash flow, budgets, commercial issue resolution and costing; Cultivates deep customer relationships based on value and “face time” with a targeted focus on customer’s future platform product design through their engineering teams with objective to gain strategic insight on customer needs and competitive influencers, ensuring early development opportunities, locking Spartan in as the “Supplier of Choice”, reducing the effects of competitive sourcing, thus favorably positioning standard hiring practices for all positions, any offer of employment will be contingent on obtaining a passing score in a CMA assessment. A hybrid (in-office and telecommute) work schedule is available. Position requires up to 25% travel to domestic and/or international locations that cannot be anticipated.

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field, plus 5 years of experience in engineering, project management, or business development for the automotive industry, and demonstrated experience with:
• Design and manufacturing of powertrain and structural product segments;
• Online systems knowledge and business development history at Ford and VW;
• Market analysis for trends and drivers to plan future product and business development activities;
• Lightweight material applications and supplemental processes;
• Interpretation of GD&T, drawings, specifications and engineering statement of work;
• Quote management for new business and engineering change RFQs;
• Internal and external customer processing;
• Feasibility assessments;
• Presentation to, and negotiations with Ford and VW; and
• Product launch processes or automotive APQP process.
Minimum Requirements: 5 years of experience in engineering, project management, or business development for the automotive industry, and demonstrated experience with:
• Design and manufacturing of powertrain and structural product segments;
• Online systems knowledge and business development history at Ford and VW;
• Market analysis for trends and drivers to plan future product and business development activities;
• Lightweight material applications and supplemental processes;
• Interpretation of GD&T, drawings, specifications and engineering statement of work;
