Tech Lead Manager (Bain Capital, LP; New York, NY): Duties and responsibilities: The Tech Lead Manager will lead the engineering efforts to build Bain Capital Ventures’ (BCV) proprietary technology and tools from scratch. This role will collaborate with data scientists and product managers on architecture and design, and will inform and direct the work of onsite and offshore engineers. The Tech Lead Manager will provide thought leadership to the Head of Product and drive the engineering work needed to create an effective investor workflow powered by data and data insights for BCV teams. Specific duties include: Oversee the creation of architecture for scalable data infrastructure and products; Work with product leadership to break down, plan, and track engineering work based on the roadmap; Propose initial technical and architectural implementation to support product vision and roadmap; Collaborate with engineering and data science teams to set and maintain high standards of engineering excellence; Provide technical leadership and development feedback to the engineers on the team; Guide conversations to remove blockers and encourage collaboration across teams; Collaborate with the team on execution, and drive code review process; Contribute to the code base, and perform code reviews; and Create and improve tooling and processes to help reduce development friction and enable greater productivity across the development organization. Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field; PLUS 3 years of relevant development experience in fast-paced environments, including 3 years of experience leading a function; OR (Alternate Requirements): Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field; PLUS 5 years of relevant development experience in fast-paced environments, including 3 years of experience leading a function.

Must Have: Demonstrated experience scaling solutions from 0 to 1; Demonstrated proficiency with AWS, Snowflake, Python, data warehouses, infrastructure set up, data architecture, and front-end tools; Demonstrated experience creating architecture for scalable data infrastructure and products; Demonstrated experience coaching and instructing work for a group of engineers; Demonstrated experience working with senior leadership and business stakeholders; Demonstrated ability to take on and complete projects promptly; Demonstrated high levels of self-sufficiency, self-drive, passion for taking ownership of one’s work, and ability to deliver outcomes; Proven results-oriented mindset with a strong customer focus; Demonstrated strong communication skills; and Demonstrated intellectual curiosity and interest in venture and startups.
