Position: Physician Assistant - Emergency Medicine (Veterans) - full or part time


Location: Hampton, VA

Position Overview:


We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Physician Assistant (PA) with experience in Emergency Medicine to join our clients dynamic healthcare team. As a PA in a busy Emergency Department, you will play a vital role in delivering urgent medical care to active duty military personnel, and their families. This position offers a unique opportunity to serve those who serve our country while working in a fast-paced and rewarding environment.


Responsibilities:




  • Provide high-quality medical care to patients presenting with acute illnesses, injuries, and medical emergencies in the Emergency Department.




  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical history review, physical examinations, and diagnostic evaluations.




  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as laboratory tests, X-rays, and imaging studies.




  • Develop and implement appropriate treatment plans based on clinical findings and established protocols.




  • Perform procedures as necessary, including wound care, suturing, splinting, and minor surgical interventions.




  • Collaborate with attending physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care and timely disposition.




  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records in compliance with regulatory standards and institutional policies.




  • Participate in multidisciplinary rounds, case conferences, and quality improvement initiatives.




Qualifications:




  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.




  • Current certification as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).




  • State licensure as a Physician Assistant - any state




  • Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in Emergency Medicine.




  • Proficiency in performing common emergency procedures, such as intubation, central line placement, and lumbar puncture.




  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.




  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities.
