Job Title: Principal Systems Analyst

Position Description:



Develops innovative, scalable, industry-leading investment tools using Linux, Oracle, and PL/SQL. Assesses business impact of incidents via customer interaction. Troubleshoots and analyzes batch application issues. Resolves incidents using application tools and databases. Coordinates migration of technical solutions with the development team into production. Uses technical tools and methodologies to provide critical incident responses. Identifies problems and develops solutions for issues related to supported applications and platforms. Collaborates with engineering associates to drive change management for technology solutions to ensure production stability. Provides analysis leadership on complex systems analysis projects, often across subsystems and companies, in a matrix organization. Consult with business users to develop recommendations that address difficult and complex business needs and opportunities.



Primary Responsibilities:



· Leads and conducts interviews with business users to gather requirements, and analyzes technology needs and system and workflow challenges.

· Develops recommendations that address difficult and complex business needs and opportunities.

· Establishes full project life cycle plans for complex systems analysis projects, and defines project scope.

· Leads other analysts in the execution of documents on large and complex projects and monitors the quality and progress of documents created by other analysts.

· Designs new systems based on requirements.

· Leads and participates in the definition of test strategies, and coordinates user acceptance testing efforts.

· Communicates progress of multiple projects to management, engages stakeholders on a regular basis, and manages expectations of internal and external stakeholders.

· Serves as industry subject matter expert, and identifies other subject matter experts who are the sources of requirements for large and complex projects.

· Works with other teams to evolve standards and best practices for systems analysis processes.

· Participates in incident/crisis management to assess business impact, determine/facilitate any workarounds, in concert with the production support organization.

· Advises on risk assessment and risk management strategies.

· Coaches and mentors junior product analysts and developers on systems analysis techniques and business workflows.



Education and Experience:



Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and five (5) years of experience as a Principal Systems Analyst (or closely related occupation) performing IT Product and Project Management within the Financial Services industry.



Or, alternatively, Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Principal Systems Analyst (or closely related occupation) performing IT Product and Project Management within the Financial Services industry.



Skills and Knowledge:



Candidate must also possess:



· Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) managing product backlogs by capturing key initiative requirements with internal and external dependencies identified and communicated through collaborative tools – Confluence, JIRA, or JIRA Align.



· DE proposing financial software solutions based on system and data analysis, using Confluence, SQL Developer, or Python.



· DE delivering status report showcases to manage stakeholders with defined roadmaps supported by Risk, Assumption, Issue, and Dependency insights, using PowerPoint and JIRA.



· DE maximizing the throughput of self-organized teams using Scrum Methodology and Agile principles; and addressing impediments, iterative planning, and Continuous Improvement (CI) using JIRA, Agile Poker, and retrospective tools.
