Position Description:

Designs and implements REST Application Programming Interface (API) services using Java frameworks. Designs and builds secure, scalable, and resilient Cloud-based microservices. Builds and deploys applications using Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines and automated deployment tools – Jenkins Core. Performs unit and integration test automation using JUnit. Uses business knowledge to translate the vision for divisional initiatives into business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications and conducting studies of alternatives. Analyzes and recommends changes in project development policies, procedures, standards, and strategies to development experts and management.

Primary Responsibilities:

·Participates in architecture design teams.
·Defines and implements application level architecture.
·Develops applications on complex projects, components, and subsystems for the division.
·Recommends development testing tools and methodologies and reviews and validates test plans.
·Responsible for QA readiness of software deliverables.
·Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications or subsystems.
·Establishes full project life cycle plans for complex projects across multiple platforms.
·Responsible for meeting project goals on-time and on-budget.
·Advises on risk assessment and risk management strategies for projects.
·Plans and coordinates project schedules and assignments for multiple projects.
·Acts as a primary liaison for business units to resolve various project/technology issues.
·Provides technology solutions to daily issues and technical evaluation estimates on technology initiatives.
·Advises senior management on technical strategy.
·Mentors junior team members.
·Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.
·Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.
·Provides production deployment and post production support.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and five (5) years of experience as a Principal Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing Web Applications using Java technologies and frameworks -- Spring Boot.

Or, alternatively, Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Principal Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing Web Applications using Java technologies and frameworks -- Spring Boot.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

·Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) designing and developing applications for Enterprise or Financial services; performing Information Technology (IT) product development in an Amazon Web Services (AWS) environment, using Java, API development, Swagger, Spring Boot, Apache Tomcat, SQL, and JDBC; and deploying databases and applications through established Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment pipelines, using AWS ECS and Docker.
·DE designing and developing applications in an Agile environment, using Java/J2EE and frameworks -- Spring Boot; designing, coding, and reviewing high quality solutions in Java technology for on-premise microservices based applications; consuming and developing APIs using Spring REST; and performing unit testing using Junit.
·DE designing, developing, implementing, and testing (quality control) frameworks for Java/J2EE, Cloud based microservices, batch processing applications, and Enterprise Services, using Junit and Postman/Insomnia (for unit, integration, and smoke testing).
·DE designing and developing enterprise Web, batch processing, and event driven applications and enterprise services in reconciliation and analytical reporting environment, using Java/J2EE technologies (Spring, Spring batch, Spring integration, and Spring boot), databases (Oracle RDBMS/SQL and PostgresSQL), Web security technologies, and REST Web services.
