Position Description:

Designs, develops, and maintains chat and email applications using Genesys’ Contact Center Suite of Applications, Java, Spring, and Amazon Web Services (AWS). Delivers functional software from start to finish using Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) tools -- GitOps, Maven, Jenkins, and uDeploy. Designs application-level architecture and develops original and creative technical solutions to ongoing development efforts for applications. Provides business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications. Coordinates software system installation and monitors functions to ensure specifications are met. Performs post-installation tests to identify and resolve technical problems. Analyzes user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within constraints. Modifies software to correct errors, adapt to new hardware, or to improve its performance. Develops software system tests and validation procedures, programs, and documentation. Performs unit and integration testing.

Primary Responsibilities:

· Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.

· Designs applications or subsystems on major projects and for/in multiple platforms.

· Develops applications for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.

· Supports and performs all phases of testing leading to implementation.

· Assists in the planning and conducting of user acceptance testing.

· Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications supporting several corporate initiatives.

· Responsible for post-installation testing of any problems.

· Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope.

· Works on complex assignments and often multiple phases of a project.

· Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several initiatives.

· Schedules processes on a daily or weekly basis.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing chat and email applications for a Financial Contact Center using Genesys’ Contact Center Suite of Applications.

Or, alternatively, Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing chat and email applications for a Financial Contact Center using Genesys’ Contact Center Suite of Applications.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

· Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) developing and supporting reusable and scalable chat and e-mail applications using Genesys’ Contact Center Suite of Applications – Composer and Genesys Administrator; developing and configuring routing applications to route incoming chat and email requests; and monitoring, deploying, and configuring Genesys applications.

· DE developing Java RESTful services and middle-tier, multi-threaded applications according to Agile methodologies using Java, Spring, and Hibernate frameworks; building, deploying and supporting applications using IDE tools (IntelliJ and Eclipse) and Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) tools (Jenkins, Maven, and uDeploy); gathering requirements and creating documentation in Jira; creating functional design for new features and collaborating, using Mural; performing configuration management and version control using GitHub; and performing Test Driven Development (TDD) using Unit/JUnit testing techniques.

· DE performing centralized log monitoring using Splunk and Kibana; creating and executing queries to search log files, using Splunk Cloud Platform; adding Log levels in application code; creating Splunk Dashboards to view metrics and understand the health of the applications; troubleshooting issues by querying application logs; and using Kibana’s interface to visualize data with charts and graphs in Elasticsearch.

· DE writing clean, testable, readable, and maintainable code for chat and e-mail applications using IDE and CI/CD tools (SonarQube); deploying highly available, scalable, and fault tolerant systems using CD tools and Amazon Web Services (AWS); transferring data between databases using Batch Processing; and hosting and running Genesys tools using Tomcat.
