Responsible for leading all automotive engineering activities to meet customer requirements, including the application and development of new corporate products, collaboration with customers for new automotive programs, maintenance of current products, and serving as the liaison with engineering counterparts; lead automotive air filter projects for the company, ensuring all technical deliverables and program schedules are met; responsible for projects encompassing cabin air and engine air intake filters used in passenger cars, light trucks, and heavy-duty trucks; responsible for customer projects by providing product design and cost analysis for current and new products; analyze and maintain solid understanding of proprietary plastic frames, production trials, quality, time schedules, and delivery issues, ensuring a smooth transition from initial concept through production; maintain knowledge of corporate and industry test standards for air filter products and facilitate testing capability with laboratories; benchmark market conditions and competitive company products and technologies to ensure company competitiveness; serve as a liaison between the R&D Team and engineering counterparts to remain current on new industry and company technologies, providing North American market input into future innovation work; develop and implement corporate automotive air filter products and technologies, maintaining technical leadership and economic advantage in the marketplace and increase market share; utilize New Product Development, APQP, PPAP, Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, FMEA, VSM, SAP, CAD Design, and IMDS to perform duties; provide engineering support to the Marketing and Sales Department with design proposals, cost estimations, and technical input for the preparation of quotations and technical presentations to customers; ensure compliance with applicable Quality Systems, timely submission of PPAPs to customers, and adherence to the APQP requirements; lead technical investigations into additional automotive segments such as agriculture, construction, and buses to ascertain opportunities for filtration products; provide engineering support to process and product development trials and run-at-rate evaluations, verifying and validating process and product capabilities, while confirming cost analysis data; issue internal reports, analyses, and other data as required by management or customers; provide engineering support to company business objectives, goals, and plans to provide leadership within scope of responsibility to meet and exceed expectations; and support and actively contribute to the development of Company Standards for Safety and Quality, ensuring workplace order, cleanliness, and compliance with quality registration and certification programs.

Location: Hopkinsville, KY and various unanticipated locations throughout the US;

Salary: $81,000 per year;

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or in a related field of study (will accept equivalent foreign degree);

Experience: Two (2) years in the position above, as an Industrial Engineer, as a Production Planner, as a Production Shift Leader, or in a related occupation;

Other Requirements: Experience must include one (1) year’s use of all the following: New Product Development, APQP, PPAP, Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, FMEA, VSM, SAP, CAD Design, and IMDS.
