Responsible for designing and developing the embedded software of quality mechatronic engineering products within agreed timescales and budgets according to established company procedures; develop and implement embedded standard C software; perform engineering requirements analysis and provide traceability through customer specifications, software units, and test cases; debug software with debuggers and emulators, and conduct engineering problem-solving activities to help debug hardware issues during the design phase; responsible for hardware component specifications and schematics, ensuring optimal functionality; provide engineering support to manufacturing by creating and maintaining documentation; use version control software, and release and vary control of software; create and run unit tests for owned software modules; utilize and apply knowledge of embedded software, Python, ASpice, CMMI, CAPL, DOORS, LIN, C language, automotive communication protocols, Vector Canoe, AUTOSAR, DaVinci Developer, DaVinci Configurator, Version control tools, IDE/Debug tools, Model Based Design procedures, systems testing support activities, ASC, KOSTIA, Software Unit Test, and RTE Design and Software Application to perform duties; participate in code reviews; carry out integration testing per specification created by team; investigate and support customer questions and complaints; utilize RTE Design and Software Application for complex functionalities; perform programming using modeling tools including MATLAB - Stateflow Code generation; support the development of test procedures for equipment in production including End of line tests; support the development of software testing using Canoe, CAPL language and Simulink; provide engineering support to develop and adapt product and system architectures, ensuring optimal quality; use Canoe and Simulink to support systems and software testing; support software development for DCU (Door Control Unit), seat modules, and other pinch protection systems using hall sensors and ripple signal bases; follow internal SPICE processes and templates, including code reviews, work products, and specifications; provide engineering support to ensure accurate internal software audits; lead productive weekly internal meetings and customer meetings when necessary; provide support for global engineering projects with teams in Mexico, Brazil and Europe, including power seat control modules, door control units, steering column control modules, capacitive switches and gear shift modules; and ensure optimal overall customer satisfaction.

Salary: $94,200 per year;

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or in a related field of study (will accept equivalent foreign degree);

Training: None;

Experience: Three (3) years in the position above, as a Sr. Electronic Engineer, as a Senior Software Engineer, as a Project Engineer, or in a related occupation;

Other Requirements: Experience must include three (3) years use of all the following: C language, automotive communication protocols, Vector Canoe, DaVinci Developer, DaVinci Configurator, Version control tools, IDE/Debug tools, Model Based Design procedures, ASC, KOSTIA, Software Unit Test, and RTE Design and Software Application.
