Our client is seeking an Account Manager with intimate knowledge and experience with the Department of Agriculture (USDA), and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). The prospective hire is expected to understand USDAs goals, congressional mandates, and challenges. The account manager is responsible for organic growth and winning new business by leveraging APVs capabilities and contracts.


A successful candidate will operate as an integral member of the growth team, partnering with operations/delivery and functional teams within APV. The selected candidate is responsible for developing a broad knowledge of the customer and competitors while maintaining dynamic market awareness. He/she will evaluate market trends and develop business cases that align with customers requirements. This position will report to the VP of Growth.


Duties:



  • Our client is a government contractor, so they are looking for an Account Manager who has experience selling Professional Services, such as IT services or Software Development services to the federal government (e.g. the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) and the US Department of Agriculture (USDA)). Our client provides Professional Services to government agencies and they want someone who can sell more of their services, specifically to CMS and USDA. They want someone who can go to these government (CMS & USDA) sites and sell those services to them and the individual in this role needs to have experience selling to them in the past and know the landscape. The ideal person for this role is a Sales Rep/Business Development Rep role. They should have experience working as a Rep for a government contractor.


Required Skills and Experience:



  • Minimum 5 years experience in a Business Development or other leadership role. (Program Lead or Technical Lead) focusing on USDA or CMS.

  • Experience with USDA or CMS and its mission.

  • Current familiarity with the vendor community.

  • Experience leading business pursuits through opportunity identification, qualification, capture, and proposal phases.

  • Highly effective communicator both verbal and written to all levels within the company and with clients.

  • Must be motivated and self-driven.

  • Bachelors Degree in a related business or technical discipline. Degree in Computer Science or Engineering preferred. A masters degree is a plus.


Must Have:



  • The candidate must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance.

  • US Citizenship is Required.

  • Travel may be required, as dictated by business needs.


Preferred Experience:



  • Knowledge of IDIQs, BPA, and GWACs that this agency uses.

  • Understanding and knowledge of IT services, Human Capital, and Training solutions. and experience selling to the client.

  • Business/financial management expertise.

  • Familiarity with project management methodologies.

  • Leadership skills in directing pursuit and/or delivery teams.
