Goodnation Philanthropy Advisors in New York, NY is seeking Research Director to lead the company’s work in programmatic or strategic areas to find the best organizations with which to work.

Job responsibilities and duties include:

1. Policy Research and Coordination:
• Monitor political developments
• Coordinate development of the company's policy research agendas, communications strategies and work plans, working in conjunction with the Executive Director and senior staff.
• Assign and supervise work within the company to achieve company’s goals, and track progress towards grant commitments.
• Manage research processes and products from design to implementation stage
• Research and develop expertise on emerging policy issues such as fintech, cryptocurrency and climate finance.
• Review and edit policy reports, blog posts, news articles, press releases, research files and opinion pieces developed by staff.
• Author content for the company's website, social media, newsletters and outside publications.
• Design work meetings and ensure appropriate program planning, resource utilization and scheduling.

2. External Relations
• Lead the company’s work in programmatic or strategic areas to find the best organizations with which to work.
• Establish and maintain contact with members of the media and allied groups in related focus areas.
• Lead outreach to state, local and national partner organizations.

3. Advocacy
• Track and analyze policy proposals at local, state and federal level to develop the company's advocacy agenda.

4. Fundraising
• Assists the Executive Director in the management of donor relationships.
• Assists the Executive Director in the development and drafting of fundraising proposals.
• Assists the Executive Director in the development and drafting of reports to funders.

This position supervises 8 other employees including Senior Researchers, Research Assistants, and Research Interns.

Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration, or any related field of study plus at least three (3) years of experience in the offered position or any related position(s) in which the required experience was obtained.

Qualified applicants must also have demonstrable skill, knowledge, experience, and proficiency in the following:

1. Economic, political science, and public policy research.
2. Author pieces for national political outlets.
3. Research file creation including creating original research materials assessing high profile individuals in politics as well as the institutions that influence politics, such as trade associations, think tanks, and lobbying firms.
4. Supervising staff of varying levels of experience, from college interns to accomplished policy or political professionals.
5. Talk to press on and off the record.
6. Maintaining and developing relationships with representatives of other policy or political organizations.

No Travel required. Work from home.
