Gardiner & Theobald has an opening for Senior Cost Manager in Chicago, IL. $68,224 to $125,000.00 per Year. Develop proactive cost forecasting for total project costs of a project throughout the design and construction of the project. Develop estimates and bid documents during the design stage of the project. Level the returns to the above reference bid documents. During the design period, develop ongoing estimates and value engineering exercises as required. Review and check all design team members invoices and recommend payment as appropriate. Attend on site requisition meeting to review the value of construction work completed. Review final construction requisitions and recommend payment as appropriate. Review all requested change orders, evaluate and make recommendations. Finalize all the accounts and costs for the project. Develop market realistic estimates. Provide the client and design team members accurate cost for items to allow decisions to be made while keeping the project on budget. Negotiate a fair value for change orders. Develop rationale for rejecting change orders when they are not due. Develop value engineering options when budget constraints require.


Employer will accept a Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or in a cost management-related occupation.
