INVESTMENTS CONSULTING ANALYST UK Pensions Market

The UK DB Consulting team is a team based in Portugal (Lisbon and Oporto) which works as an extension of the Wealth Investment DB Consulting teams in the UK, providing investment advice to Defined Benefit & Local Governance pension schemes and Endowments and Foundations in the UK. The complex and broad nature of this business makes for excellent career prospects, as colleagues are involved in the overall investment cycle of our clients from strategy setting, to monitoring and implementation;
We are currently looking for an investment analyst to join the team. This person will work directly with both the client consultants in the UK and Portugal and the Wealth specialist teams to ensure clients receive a high quality service from Mercer.

We will count on you to:

Support consultants in providing advice to pension schemes throughout all stages of the investment cycle, including setting the clients objectives, reviewing the investment strategy, conducting manager selection exercises and implementing changes to the clients overall investment structure, producing investment, ESG and Climate monitoring reports and market updates, etc;
Support consultants in drafting client presentations, meeting agendas/minutes and any other required meeting materials;
Assisting in day-to-day client, consultant and regular audit, accounting, KYC/AML and reporting queries;
Support consultants in drafting/reviewing initial versions and amendments to Investment Management Agreements, Statement of Investment Principles and client engagements;
Supporting consultants with new client take-on process, working with and alongside client take-on specialists, business development, and other specialist teams;
Liaise closely with external investments managers and other third parties; as well as with internal teams such as Performance Reporting Team, Transitions, Research, Actuarial.
Regular contact with the clients and consultants in the UK, which may include visits to the UK;


What you need to have:

Team Player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
Self-motivated with an eagerness to contribute to the business;
Taking ownership for work, always ensuring standards and deadlines are met;
Strong project management with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a rapidly changing and dynamic environment;
Openly shares information and own expertise with colleagues;
Fluent English level, demonstrating excellent oral and written English communication skills;
Works well under pressure, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks;
Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
