PURPOSE


Reporting to the General Manager (GM), the Account Manager shall be:

The Single-Point-Of-Contact (SPOC) for all customers and be responsible for taking care of all existing customer of the business unit. This includes attending to all commercial-related issues, management of contracts, building and maintaining relationship with customer at all levels, and attending customers events.
SPOC for all commercial-related activities in the given territory and any other territory assigned by the GM of KIG as-and-when required.
SPOC for the development, planning, management, and delivery of all bulk product within the given territory
Responsible for all Business Development activities within the given territory which include prospecting, bidding, contract negotiation and be the Commercial Lead for project execution.
Responsible to assist the GM of KIG in account planning, preparation of Request for Proposal (RFQ) for vendors and any other ad-hoc task assign by the GM of KIG


NATURE AND SCOPE


The Account Manager will also be responsible for the development and management of all existing contracts and the development of new customers for the business unit.

The Account Manager will be responsible for all business development and marketing activities in the Kulim Hi-Tech Industrial Park area.

This will include the development of projects from start to finish, encompassing prospecting, developing quotes, and negotiating contract closure with customers. The role requires a high level of commercial and analytical skills. Customer engagement is key to drive profitability in these targeted growth areas and to develop and sustain strong business relationships.

Measurement of success will be against primary commercial goals, development of a sustainable prospect/project pipeline, flawless execution of projects secured and strong problem-solving skills and relationship building with existing customer.

The Account Manager will oversee the customer payment behavior, product usage pattern, customers complaint and collection as and when required with support from collection team.


PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES


The incumbent will have below as main responsibilities.

Focal point person for new sales & existing customers in the given territory. Responsibilities include:


Sales & Marketing (in conjunction with Management):


Soliciting and receiving customers RFQs
Working with the stake holders to develop the offering, producing, and submitting proposals.
Management of existing customer relationship & developing new long-term business relationship with prospective customers to support business growth plan within the business territory.
Develop solutions & offerings that will provide value to customers.
Increase brand awareness in our target markets and territories.


Engineering/Operations (in conjunction with Technical / Ops Team)


Work closely with suppliers & partners team to meet customer needs, and timely delivery of product according to specification and contract commitments.
Partner with internal & external stakeholders commercial teams to develop the commercial proposals


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS


Bachelors degree in engineering or science subject is preferred.
Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role.
Mandatory requirements include customer-facing experience, possessing strong technical sales acumen, and exposure to engineering, manufacturing, or chemical industry.
Ability to effectively manage customer relationships and interpret contracts.
Commercial management skills and common sense are essential for success in this role. Experience in transactional processing, reporting and analysis is an added advantage.
Basic proficiency in Project Financial Analysis.
English fluency is must. Mandarin is an added advantage but is not mandatory.
