Managing Editor, American Political Science Review (Washington, DC) – Telecommuting Permissible. (multiple positions). Conduct technical checks for all the new submissions to the journal; Monitor the peer review progression and assist the Editorial Team in the process; Check the completeness of the submitted materials, transmit them to production, proofread all the new articles, and approve them for publication; Track manuscripts from submission to publication/ rejection; Monitor the APSR Dataverse and publish the replication data for new articles; Coordinate work between the APSR Editorial Team, the publisher of the journal (Cambridge University Press), and the authors who publish their work in the journal; Manage the association’s on-line version of the journal and social media activity. Requires a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Political Science or related field, and one (1) year work experience in the job offered or in a related position as an editor or editorial assistant for an academic journal. Also requires one (1) year of experience in each: Managing manuscripts in political science during the peer review process; proofreading the research articles/letters that are accepted by the publisher; Using Harvard Dataverse to check and deposit replication materials for the published academic articles; and utilizing journal peer-review system Editorial Manager and ScholarOne. Must have experience conducting research using quantitative and statistical analysis gained through either employment or graduate level studies.
