Position: Plant Production Scheduler Engineer

Location: 1200 Story Avenue, Louisville, KY 40206



Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related. 6 months of experience as a Project/Industrial Engineer, Production Trainee or related. Experience must include: Using MS projects to plan prioritize duties, delegate, communicate, and execute projects, and using Quintic and Order Management softwares to plan daily production; Using Minitab, Aspen+, and Autocad software to analyze the physical and chemical measurements of different plants and design new equipment and engineering processes; Auditing environmental, quality, and safety procedures for clients according to international standards, such as ISO 14001, ISO 450001, ISO 90001 certifications; Use Aspen+ to design new equipment like vessels, cooling towers, and engineering equipment to ensure and improve efficiency.



Duties: Ensure that all production procedures are followed in order to achieve the highest level of productivity in the most cost-efficient manner possible while still maintaining the customers’ specifications; Develop processes to assist with the attainment of production and volume goals through the improvement of efficiencies, minimizing downtime, through engineering controls; reducing costs through the elimination of excess raw material; and increasing volume attainment through process flow management; Manage optimization projects, designing new equipment and procedures to reduce downtime and increasing plant production efficiency; Coordinate and revise all logistics concerning production making sheets for 1st and 2nd shifts, detailing the amount and the type of product to be made; Apply knowledge of general engineering principles of lean logistics and six SIGMA methodologies to send and deliver products on time; Apply lean manufacturing methodologies to optimize and standardize pork processes and value stream mappings to identify waste sources on pork procedures and processes to reduce downtimes and achieve the on time delivery goals; Complete production and order plans; accomplish work results, prioritize, monitor progress; revise schedules, resolve problems and report result production and deliveries summaries; Organize and coordinate the activities around the implementation of quality to continually improve processes and ensure adherence to all product specifications to reduce claims and maximize yields; Making internal audits according to international procedures; Create long term ideal states maps for pork processes to standardize and achieve pork production and shipping KPI’s, according with the critical jobs of the pork industry that need the use of specific PPE; Communicate with the plant manager to make the daily production plan, ensuring quality and safety in the process; Improve safety by identifying hazards and problem shooting solutions; Ensure plant general manufacturing practices are followed and ensure food safety and policy compliance; Monitor and direct by identifying food safety and quality procedures on the plant, report deficiencies, and correct them according to the appropriate protocols; Update inventory list of available products and aged inventory; Utilize frozen product storage; arrange for the frozen product to be scheduled for delivery; Troubleshoot problems and concerns from the corporate office and sales; Provide daily reports to the corporate office; Work closely with plant management to notify of changes and keep apprised of problems, and tour production floor to continue familiarity with operations and to ensure understanding of production and products.
