Position Title: Full time Cook
Salary: $80,000 per annum (including remote location allowance) plus superannuation and benefits

Tasks include:
PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVE OF ROLE:

The major objective of this role is to provide nourishing meals in a safe and clean environment for our Elders and teams.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES / POSITION ACTIVITIES

Food Preparation and Food preferences
In accordance with the Food safety guidelines prepare and deliver nutritious meals that meet the dietary needs and preferences of the Elders and clients.
In consultation with the Elders, management and staff, able to incorporate specific food preferences and dietary requirements into meal planning which includes but is not limited to adjusting recipes, accommodating allergies or intolerances, and ensuring a variety of food choices.
Preparing and cooking the food from the scratch ingredients
Work closely with the staff to adhere as closely as possible to Nutritionist developed menus that meet the nutritional needs of the Elders while taking into consideration factors such as budget, seasonal availability of ingredients, and cultural preferences.
Calculating and managing the portions as per the nutritional guidelines
Responsible for stock ordering, rotation and management.

Kitchen Maintenance
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, ensuring it meets the required standards for food preparation and storage including regular cleaning, proper storage of ingredients, and effective waste management.

Customer Relationship and communication
Communicate with Elders and clients to understand their individual meal requirements, address any concerns or feedback, and provide information on meal options.
Proactively anticipate customer needs where possible.
Measure customer/stakeholder satisfaction to continually improve.
Encourage and engage with consumers to provide feedback in complaints.

Teamwork
Keep team members informed of relevant issues impacting them or their work.
Contribute to a team culture where individual members are valued and recognised for their diverse skill sets.

Health and Safety
Comply with any reasonable instruction in relation to Work, Health and Safety
Take reasonable care of your own Health and Safety in line with the Work health and safety regulations.
Avoid adversely affecting the health and safety of any other person through any act or omission at work.
Plating and garnishing the food as per taking food and health safety and make it appealing encouraging the residents to have meal as per the requirement
Ensure that you are not in such state (due to alcohol or drugs) as to endanger your own safety at work or the safety of any other person.
Comply with the use and utilisation of appropriate personal protective equipment.

Skill level required:
Certificate IV in the relevant field is an advantage.
Minimum one year of relevant work experience
Experience working in the aged care industry related field would be an advantage
Able to live near by and available to work full time
