Key Responsibilities: ETL Testing: Collaborate with the development and data engineering teams to understand ETL workflows and processes, ensuring the smooth and accurate flow of data between systems. Data Verification: Conduct thorough testing and validation of data, comparing production data with the data received from external sources, to ensure its completeness, accuracy, and conformity to predefined standards. Data Sampling: Perform sampling of real production data to simulate various scenarios and identify potential issues, ensuring that the ETL processes can handle different data types and formats effectively. Database Testing: Verify the correct population of data in the DynamoDB and Postgres databases, ensuring data consistency and adherence to data privacy regulations. Data Security and Compliance: Ensure that all testing processes adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain the confidentiality of patient data. Writing Queries: Develop and execute SQL queries to retrieve and validate data, troubleshoot issues, and verify data transformations during the ETL process. Documentation: Create comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test reports to track defects and communicate results effectively with the development team. Collaborative Problem-Solving: Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify, report, and track issues through resolution, fostering a collaborative and problem-solving culture. On-Site Visits: Be willing to travel to San Francisco for one week every two months or once per quarter, collaborating with the team in-person and building strong working relationships. Requirements: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Proven experience as an ETL Tester or a related data testing role. Strong proficiency in writing SQL queries and testing databases. Familiarity with data validation, data profiling, and data quality assurance techniques. Knowledge of ETL tools and processes, with hands-on experience in ETL testing. Previous exposure to healthcare data, patient records, or similar sensitive data is advantageous. Experience with Python and React is a plus but not mandatory. Understanding of data security and HIPAA compliance requirements. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail. Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Ability to work remotely and be available during EST business hours.
