CRA International, Inc. has an opening for Senior Associate - Competition in Washington, DC.
Duties: Conduct research, prepare reports, or formulate plans to address economic problems related to the production and distribution of goods and services or monetary and fiscal policy. Contribute to the design and conduct of project work, including coordinating with clients to procure data and define analysis scope. Develop statistical analysis programs and perform econometric analysis to determine the extent of substitution across products and geographic areas. Predict likely competitive effects from proposed transactions or specific firm conduct and quantify the competitive effects of specific firm conduct or regulations, develop models of individual firm behavior under different assumptions about market structure to simulate effects of changes in market structure, and plan the execution of significant sub-tasks on projects. Conceptualize and analyze relevant issues for the project, provide training and technical supervision to junior staff in Stata or SAS programming, data management and statistical analysis methods, and oversee the econometric analysis of antitrust and competition topics, including reviewing analysis for quality control. Prepare technical documentation of econometric and modeling analysis, draft reports containing descriptions of analysis methodologies and results that involve substantial creativity in analysis, and contribute to business development efforts by creating client proposals. Oversee the integration of inputs for reports or presentations that involve complex issues. Evaluate project assignments and individual skills to orchestrate project staffing effectively while providing ongoing coaching and mentoring to team members.

Requirements: Employer will accept a Ph.D. in Economics, Finance, Accounting, or related field of study (or foreign equivalent).

Alternatively, a Master's degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, or related field of study (or foreign equivalent) and three (3) years of experience in developing statistical analysis programs and conducting econometric analysis on products across geographies.

Must include experience with each of the following:
1). Researching, and studying industry-specific data and institutional factors using multiple sources of information to acquire fact-based knowledge of the industry under consideration, and related economic issues;
2). Developing strategy for, and conducting industry-specific surveys to collect data and execute research;
3). Managing workstreams, and designing complex economic and financial models to analyze economic and financial data;
4). Programming, model building and/or performing regression analysis in statistical analysis programs (such as Stata, SAS, R, Python, or Matlab);
5). Ensuring the integrity and accuracy of analyses and opinions through researching relevant academic literature, replicating corresponding analysis with the data at hand, and execution of similar analyses through different data sets.

Experience may be gained during a graduate program. May be assigned to various, unanticipated sites throughout U.S.
