Afterschool Enrichment Head Math Teacher (The Russian School of Mathematics, Inc.; Coppell, TX and Plano, TX): The Head Math Teacher is responsible for creating a classroom environment so students can develop competencies in mathematical skills and an understanding of the structure of mathematics. The teacher must motivate each student to apply mathematical understanding and skills in the solution of practical problems and must keep the kids safe during class. The Head Math Teacher will be responsible for providing educational instruction to assigned students in a structured classroom environment designed to promote key critical reasoning skills as well as emotional and social growth. Specific duties of the position include: teaching mathematics in K to 12th grades using the RSM methodology based on the Vygotsky principles of learning to ensure maximum results, while also creating a safe and productive environment in the classroom; preparing lesson plans for an engaging, individualized, and results-based learning environment within the classroom; developing training materials and lesson plans; assigning and reviewing students' homework that coordinates with classroom lesson plans and solidifies theories reviewed in class; creating report cards to give detailed feedback to parents; driving the re-enrollment process at the end of each semester by recommending the correct level of math for every child, and providing this information to parents; working directly with parents to proactively ensure students continue with the RSM program; and attending training sessions organized by RSM; working on the improvement of the curriculum so that students learn core concepts to build upon; training and mentoring other teachers in live or online classrooms introducing them to RSM culture, guiding them through RSM academic specifics, classroom management and advising on their work with parents; working with the branch principal to create programs and processes that drive academic excellence and quality of teaching; supervising Level I and Level 11 teachers and the instructional programs of the school; observing classes on a regular basis to encourage the use of the Russian School ol Mathematics instructional strategies and materials; providing mentorship to new teachers; and working with the branch principal on events promoting RSM's program and methodology.

Minimum requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, related mathematical field, or education or related or equivalent plus 2 years of classroom teaching experience in schools or afterschool programs using Vygotsky method of teaching mathematics.

Must have: Must have experience working on curriculum and familiarity with math competitions.
